Awesome Week of Celebration, Creations and Thanks...Halloween, Christmas, Oktoberfest and Wedding Anniversary and Vintage Treasures...What more could a girl ask for!!!

It has been an awesome week of celebration and
creation for me here at Country Essence Emporium...
Did some cleaning and creating in the studio to prepare
for the upcoming Oktoberfest here in Brush, an annual
event that we love to participate in...
Started to create a Halloween banner with some
old cloth and stamps from Holtz line...I truly love
his products, they work so well for my creative
projects...
So well in fact I had to pick up a couple more on
my trip out of town for our Anniversary Dinner Date...
We celebrated our 31st anniversary this week...
I treated myself to this wonderful old
antique chocolate pot at a thrift store...I just
could not pass it up as it was in my colors...
And of course has beautiful roses...
had to bring her home...
Picked up a couple of sweaters too for
repurpose needs...I see pumpkins in
my future...love the texture and color of
these two and I have a cashmere I will
be adding in the mix in a soft orange...
Cleaned up some vintage ornaments
from a previous yard sale find a couple
weeks ago...won't be long and will need
to start putting a few Christmas things
together for the shop...
One of the high points of the week had
to be bringing home my cast iron bathtub...
I have been wanting one of these for soooo
long...now just needs tlc and install...
The most wonderful thing that happened this
week was my wonderful husband and I are
celebrating 31 years of marriage...he picked
this pretty rose in our gardens and brought
it in to me the morning of our anniversary...
I am one lucky lady to have this man in my
life and I thank my lucky stars everyday
for the blessings I have today and everyday...
So thankful, so happy, so blessed in so many
ways...great week indeed!

Creating with Vintage Halloween, Burlap & Chalk Paint...I Love my Job!

As the weather cools and the children head
back to school, my art creations take a turn
to the Halloween and Fall flared side. This
translucent orange frame, a thrifing find, seemed
too perfect to not use for this vintage Halloween image!

I created my first ever paper cone wreath using
the same vintage image for the focal point, I
just love her and her little black kitten!
Burlap for the center with a sweet black
tulle skirting just offsets the black noted
vintage sheet music. Embellished with vintage
black trim and an awesome pair of vintage
bling earrings in the corners...she is ready
for her new home now...was so fun to create!

She is large, had to turn her sideways
to fit her through the doorways in the house!
Perfect to display for the Halloween season!

I love using kraft paper, especially
when working with vintage images, just
works really well for the right feel
to the project, putting together cards
with matching envelopes. I had to breakout
the Tim Holtz Glassine paper and Distress
Inks on these...Love working with his products
and I am always pleased with the results!

Also a first for me rosettes with burlap
and old cheesecloth fabric, these were so easy
to make and a lot of fun...many more of these
will be coming...added these to a vintage mirror...

Made the burlap corner so that it can
be removed to clean the mirror as needed.
The little green leaves are vintage millinery
pieces and were the perfect touch! The strand
of champagne pearls were just the right addition
to this piece to balance it all out!

The chalk paint fun has begun...experimented
with mixing and I love it so far. I am finding
I really love to paint so watch for many pieces
to come with chalk paint...I can hardly wait
to crank some out to sell!

Summer Begins, Junkin' and Pickin' Adventures and Giveaway Treasures to Reopen Country Essence Emporium

Well now that the kids either are or soon will be out of
school for the summer let the good times roll...

The new home of Country Essence Emporium is coming
along...progress is slow but sure in preparations for our
opening in June...

Have been busy laundering batches of linens and lace
to offer up for sale when we reopen...I love my old
washing machine tub...

I will have lots of goodies to share and will be putting
together three nice GIVEAWAY packages too for
my reopening in June...

The shop design is coming together...piece by piece
and will be a shopping experience for those that love
antiques, collectables and repurposed items as well
as teatime goods and handcrafted items...

I learned that my patio table outside in the sun makes
for an awesome doily drying rack...

Been busy as well getting the vegetable gardens
planted and all the annuals potted and in place
to enjoy through the summer season...

Created another dishpan arrangement...
this one is for me...sold the other ones...

Have been playing with solar lights and
vintage items to repurpose into yard lights...
These have so much more appeal to me than
any of the mass produced ones you find
in the big box stores...

I really love this one...pearched on top of my
ladder in the back garden...

Don't know if I will ever use a regular
flowerpot again either...these are just so
much better in my opinion...more character
and interest to please the eye...

This shepherds hook in the back sports a
spinner and a special bucket...This is the
bucket that I always filled with cold water
from the garden hose for my dog Kermit when
he was out in the yard with me...he has been
gone two months now...gosh I miss him so...planted
this in memory of Kermit, this was always one
of his spots in the yard as he would make the rounds...

He loved playing in the hose and the water
when ever we were out in the yard we always
had to have a romp in the water...miss you
baby dog...we talked about going for a walk
yesterday but just can't seem to do it without
the dog...seems just too weird...

The front flower bed is overflowing with
wild violets so much so you can barely
see my hostas and other groundcovers and the
bleeding heart is being dwarfed as well...
I usually pull them and thin out but might
let them go this year and see what happens...
Love the old wire egg basket that's holding
the fuchsia...lined with good old newsprint...

Well...enough said for now...Make sure to leave a comment
below to be entered in my GIVEAWAYS for the
reopening in June...Have not decided yet what to give
but all three will be awesome for sure...don't miss out!

Artsy Addicts Challenge Radiant Orchid TuTu Cute Violet Ember

So enjoyed creating in my studio for the first time
in several months...Who wouldn't love putting together
a layout to showoff this beautiful baby girl!
This is Violet Ember my Granddaughter at 4 months old...
Took me what seemed forever to assemble some creative
supplies to get started...I had ordered some Lindy's Stamp Gang
Starburst Sprays a while back so seized the opportunity to
put them to good use in this challenge...
Was a warm and sunny day this past Sunday so
I played in the sun outside to spray...
I have a large bulletin board I use for all my
spraying...works great!
I love how the Coredinations Black Magic Collection
cardstock makes the photograph pop and goes perfectly
with Violet's outfit...
The Prima flower and vintage white eyelet were
both sprayed with a combination of Lindy's to get the
color I desired. I used a blend of
Gag me with a Spoon Gray
Down the Rabbit Hole and
Bodacious Blush
Love how they blended...
Used some Recollections Boutique Fleur bling swirls...
I love the ease of application...
The words are clippings from Graphic 45's
Botanical Tea Collection sheet titled Just Because...
The base page and torn element are musical note paper
from The Paper Studio...need to learn more on the distress
and rolling of the edges of tattered papers...I love the effect...
Love how it all came together in the end...
took me a while to get the mojo on and get into
my groove...had been soooo long...
Baby Violet's TuTu Cute layout for the March
Artsy Addicts Color Challenge Radiant Orchid...
Done and I love it...so glad to be back in the studio
once again!
More to come...much more!

A Chapter Ends and a New Chapter Begins...The Life and Times of Country Essence Emporium

So as of March 22, 2014 I will be closing shop
in downtown Brush, Colorado and relocating
Country Essence Emporium llc. to my residence
located at 311 Cameron Street to reopen in June 2014.
This little collector loves to shop and create things
of beauty to sell...over the past year in running a
shop I have had so little time to create and or shop
so I have become to realize being a shop keeper is
not for me so I am revamping my business to better
suit the lifestyle I love...
This little 3 tiered tray is one of the very few things I
have created in the last several months...I have started
to wither and die without the time to be creative and to
shop for "stuff"...
Ran on to this old barn door a few days ago and this will
now be my new workspace table in my art studio...
It matches the woodwork at the bay window where
I am setting up my studio...
It is a whopping 32" wide and 72" long and will give me
plenty of room to spread out as I work and area to set things
aside as they dry...2 separate workstations actually...
This is my Mother and I last year on the day we
celebrated my opening of the shop downtown...
It has been a fun and rewarding year but the time
has come to move on to new adventures...
Yes...The life and times of Country Essence Emporium
is an ever changing one...did I ever mention that I bore
easily Ha Ha Ha! This next move is sure to keep me
more than busy...vending items in 4 shops plus my own
and doing junk and craft fairs along with all that
SHOPPING...Whooo Hoooo I can't wait!

A New Chapter in the Life and Times of Country Essence Emporium...Vintage Love

I have been waiting for the perfect time to set this
up and get it going...no time is ever the perfect time
so...the time is now...vintage love online begins...

This lovely Hawaiian made dress is the most striking
blues and greens...I dearly love it...had it been in my
size you would not be seeing it listed in my Etsy shop
later today...it's to die for I tell ya...

The vintage choker has just enough blue to add that
special touch for a special summer evening out...

VINTAGE...GOTTA LOVE IT!!!
So excited to finally get this going and connect with
all the vintage lovers out there!
